At the Youth Legal Service, the goal of the work we do is to alter the trajectory of the lives of the most vulnerable young people in our community, empowering them with the legal support and advocacy they need. Whether a young person is facing court proceedings or needs advice to understand their rights, we’re in their corner. 

And we’re not alone: working alongside headspace, The Shopfront, and OzHarvest, we deliver holistic, wraparound care that makes a genuine difference in the lives of young people who may need a little more support. 

But demand keeps growing. Marrickville Legal Centre has seen an 8.9% increase in population in our immediate catchment area in the past decade, but only a minor increase in our baseline funding. 

Demand for our specialised youth service is growing at a faster rate than funding can match – the Youth Legal Service is one of only TWO specialist legal services that helps young people aged 18-25 years and operates across the entire state of NSW.  

For the past five years, the Youth Legal Service has been kept open through contributions from our generous donors and the wider community. On this note, we’re just $15,000 away from reaching our Youth Legal Service fundraising goal before the End of Financial Year.
