MLC proud new innovation hub for CLC tech
40 years is turning into a big celebration for access to justice.
Marrickville Legal Centre is proud to announce a new innovative tech project to improve service delivery for the community legal sector.
Every day Marrickville Legal Centre receives hundreds of calls from vulnerable people in need of legal assistance. Despite the best efforts of staff and volunteers, excess demand creates a bottleneck for the intake officers answering calls.
The new LegalBot will innovate service delivery in community legal centres (CLCs) to better manage demand and offer basic legal information on low complexity matters, freeing up Centre resources for high-need clients.
“This innovation could revolutionise service delivery in CLCs by reducing the bottleneck of simple queries,” NSW Attorney-General Mark Speakman said.
MLC’s Managing Principal Solicitor Vasili Maroulis says “LegalBot will reduce wait times for the hundreds of people who contact the Marrickville Legal Centre each week in need of assistance”.
This project is a huge step forward in facilitating improved access to justice for the community.
Marrickville Legal Centre thanks the NSW Government for the grant as part of the Access to Justice Innovation Fund.
